Campanula encompass a large and varied group of plants ranging from ground-growing alpines to tall, border plants. More commonly known as bell-flower, these are incredibly attractive plants for bumblebees and other pollinators. Really easy to grow, low-maintenance plants.

 

Campanulas will grow in any soil type but will need some moisture during the summer. Prefers a lightly shaded spot but will grow well in sun or heavier shade. Some may self seed and some spread by underground stems.

Large lilac bell flowers bell flowers from July to September. Grow in sun or partial shade, in well-drained, moist soil. Clump-forming, spreads quickly. Grows to a height of 80cm with a spread of 70cm. Hardy.
